This wood match-up creates a crisp texture to the overall sound of the instrument. The smaller scale of this instrument (considered ¾ sized) is specially designed with the younger player in mind and is highly recommended for the players that are starting between the ages of 8-12. Rating : - Action is stiff, but it works
Generally it's wise to introduce kids to instruments on something that isn't quite as painful as this. The action is a bit too high on this, making is harder to get a note with no buzz. Yes this is so it's easier to mass produce and make cheaply. Just be aware that it may make it tougher to sell your kid on it.
